Vote Tuesday, November 6

In 2003 Durham was in the limelight for the wrong reasons.

Our former City Manager was ineffective. Rolling Hills and the small business loan scandals helped define our city. The visual image of Durham from the freeway was of an abandoned and neglected tobacco warehouse which many believed represented the conditions and spirit of our city.

As a life long resident I ran for City Council because I knew Durham could be so much more.

Needless to say the past four years have been sweeping. That same Tobacco Complex has been completley renovated. Among other issues I helped pass a 110 million dollar bond intitiative to repair our streets and parks. I expanded home ownership opportunities to lower income citizens with our Hope Six program.

Our work is just beginning.

My promise was, and is, simple: I strive to bring about positive, common-sense change -- I listen to citizens, act independently, fight for fiscal accountability, and speak truth to power.
